2What this website collects
This website has no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising tools and no profiling. It sets no cookies, which is also why it shows no cookie banner.
Two things are processed:
- What you type into the contact form: your name, your email address and your message.
- Technical data your browser sends to any web server it talks to, including your IP address, in order to deliver the page to you.
3Why, and on what legal basis
Form submissions are used for one purpose: to read your message and answer it. The legal basis is the steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, or the legitimate interest in replying to someone who has written to us (Article 6(1)(b) and 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Technical data is processed on the basis of legitimate interest, in order to serve and secure the website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Nothing is used for marketing unless you ask to be contacted. Nothing is sold, rented or traded.
4Who else sees it
Three providers are involved in running this site, each acting as a processor:
- Web3Forms, which receives what the contact form sends and delivers it by email.
- Google Workspace, which hosts the mailbox the message arrives in.
- GitHub Pages, which serves the website itself.
Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, it does so under the transfer safeguards required by the GDPR.
Beyond these, information is shared only where the law requires it.
5How long it is kept
Messages are kept for as long as the enquiry is live and, where it leads to work, for as long as the business relationship and the legal retention periods that follow it require. Messages that lead nowhere are deleted once it is clear there is nothing to answer.
Server logs are kept by the hosting provider for their own limited period and are not used to build any profile.
6Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for access to your data, correction of it, erasure of it, restriction of its processing, and a copy of it in a portable form. You can object to processing based on legitimate interest.
Write to hello@sidechain.global and you will get an answer within one month.
If you are not satisfied, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, contact@apd-gba.be.
